Joining the Board of Directors of Wonderworks was an opportunity for Anne to find a place for service to the community in The Dalles after moving from Portland in 2002. Anne and her husband, Mike Kelly, came to The Dalles to take over Mike's family wheat farm when their daughter, Mikayla, was only two weeks old. Wonderworks gave Anne the chance to meet other families, and help to create and maintain programs to benefit the children of the community as well as her own. Anne is originally from the Seattle area, but has been living in Oregon since attending Lewis and Clark College in Portland. After working in video and film editing, Anne returned to school to get her Masters in Teaching. She taught high school English in the Portland Public Schools until moving to The Dalles. Mikayla is now eight and Paul is six. Anne has taught the parenting class "Terrific Twos" through the Commission on Children and Families, substitute teaches and has a business producing pancake mix from wheat grown on her farm.
